Sonic branding can include sonic logos, music for advertising, environmemtal
music for retail, restaurants and theme parks, and even music for telephone 'on
hold' lines. All of these products can help to reinforce your brand identity
and give your brand a unique unmistakable sound that customers emotionally
connect with, while also being enduring and memorable.
The sound logo is a short distinctive melody or other sequence of sound, mostly
positioned at the beginning or end of an advertisement. It is the acoustic
equivalent of a visual logo and works best when used in combination with a
visual logo or trademark. Many of these recognizable sonic brands include the
tones we hear with the starup of the Microsoft Windows screen, the
chimes that go with the NBC Television network's visual logo, the theme song
for the Olympics, McDonald's short tune identifing their radio and TV ads, and
even the music we hear inside theme parks. I'm sure you know of even more from
similiar companies.
